Time to vote

It's time to vote for your favourite piece of maille in the Artfire Chainmaille Guild's August Challenge.  There are three lovely interpretations of the theme 'Black as Night' to choose from.  So why not pop over and support this group of talented artists.

I can say all that because I didn't manage to get a piece ready in time for this one.

I love silver! I love cats!

Just finished a lovely selection of silver chainmaille that is now sitting in Goldsmiths' Hall waiting for hallmarking and then I can finally update my online shops with some new pieces.
It's been pretty busy here with the local craft fairs and making sure that I have enough stock so that the table never looks bare. This has meant that my online shops have been a little neglected with the new stuff going straight to the fairs.
Having to hallmark my heavier silver pieces also slows things down a bit as far as listing items go because I have to wait until everything gets back to me which can take up to two weeks depending on Goldsmiths' workload.
So watch my shops carefully because September is going to see some new sterling silver items that are simply to die for. A bit like this lovely Japanese chainmaille bracelet.

Also our lovely Maine Coon Libby is hopefully expecting her first litter. She was 2 years old in June and is a wonderful gentle cat with long linx tips, a lovely strong muzzle and she has an extremely long and fluffy tail. She did very well in her first TICA show as a kitten but Libby hates to travel so that was her one and only show. Libby prefers to stay at home and her favourite place to sleep is on top of the travel case. I accidentally woke her up when I took her picture.

New eye candy

It was a lovely weekend. First of all on Friday there was the Lampeter Agricultural Show; a lovely event to which we normally take the llamas. This time however I decided to try a turn in the craft fair. It was lovely to share my passion for chainmaille with people who normally associate me with llamas and cats.
Then there was a charity event for cancer research held at a last minute venue change in Felin Fach. Again it was lovely to see lots of familiar faces.
Both events were quite successful for me and now I need to make some more lovely chainmaille pieces.

This Sterling Silver Dragonscale bracelet is however only being made to order and due to hallmarking times in London I do need 3 weeks in order to fulfil an order. Please do keep this in mind when asking me to make one for a special occasion.

Emerald Fire - a forest dragon

I have just finished this cute little fellow called Emerald Fire.

Emerald Fire is a forest dragon and he protects the forests and woodlands and all the creatures who live there from danger. He is rarely seen by mortal eyes as he moves around the forests checking on his charges.

This little dragon is approximately 5.5" tall and has a wingspan of 5.5". He is made from hand dyed mohair with black glass bead eyes and a pair of black perl cotton nostrils, all set around a wire framework.

You can buy him here
